Description

Kedrodasos Beach is a secluded, natural beach on the southwest coast of Crete, located near the more famous Elafonissi area. It is known for its soft white sand, turquoise waters, and a rare cedar forest growing right behind the shoreline. The name “Kedrodasos” means “cedar forest,” and these juniper trees create a unique shaded landscape that is uncommon in the region. The area is largely undeveloped, with no major facilities, which helps preserve its wild and peaceful atmosphere. Wildlife includes coastal birds, insects, and small reptiles adapted to sandy and dry coastal habitats. Overall, Kedrodasos is valued for its natural beauty, quiet setting, and sense of untouched wilderness.
