Georgioupoli

Georgioupoli is a popular seaside village on the northern coast of Chania, situated close to the border with the Rethymno region. The village is known for its long sandy beach, river landscape, eucalyptus-lined central square and the picturesque chapel of Agios Nikolaos, which stands at the end of a stone causeway extending into the sea. Georgioupoli combines the atmosphere of a traditional Cretan settlement with a well-developed visitor infrastructure of tavernas, cafés, accommodation and beach facilities. It is also conveniently located for visiting nearby Lake Kournas and the rural landscapes of Apokoronas.
