Gigilos

Gigilos is one of the most recognisable peaks of the White Mountains, rising dramatically above the western side of Samaria Gorge near the Omalos Plateau. Reaching approximately 2,005 metres, its exposed limestone slopes, steep ravines and rugged summit give it a particularly imposing appearance. Gigilos is a well-known mountaineering destination, with the approach commonly beginning near Xyloskalo at the entrance to Samaria Gorge. The mountain should be treated as a serious hiking environment rather than a conventional sightseeing attraction, especially when weather conditions deteriorate.
